Review: Fiskars Knife

I decided to post this review first, although i have and use other knives, because it is a simple knife and i happened upon it yesterday...I bought it for approx. 11$ and i was a bit hesitant about it because it didnt look like a hobby or garden knife. Well here it is. I make only a descriptive review, there is a review on the net and it is not a promising one, i tell you...
It came in a plastic container that had to be pried open..(thats already suspicious about the quality...)
Overall length is about 215mm or 6" 1/2(sorry i dont know how to use the inches marks, please someone correct me..) and the blade legth is about 100mm or 4". The most striking feature is it's lack of weight and that is also very suspicious as it turns out....

What is that? What is it with these people and hollow handles? This one is of course ordinary plastic and not the fibercomp of their otherwise very good axe series...But let's not be hasty shall we? Let's see what room have we got in there....

What that ruler tells me is that there is no tang...at all! The other guy who reviewed this knife actually broke it after batoning through a small  3-4" piece of wood so the "tang" is actually injection molded into the handle...
I must say though that it feels like a good knife, but actually it isnt one...It can be sharpened quite easily and the blade seems hard enough plus the extra space in the hilt may come in handy....

There are some details that stand out when you get a closer look...The knife looks and feels good but is of mediocre quality. There are no Fiskars logos on the knife! Not even the inox or stainless steel reading on the blade! Very suspicious indeed. The Fiskars logo is found only on the sheath. I am worried that they didn't bother to glue or melt into position the orange cap...It's like they thought that we are gonna use it so let them just discover it...On the more shorter and destructive review i found the guy said that his was made in italy...Let's see where ours is made in....
Right...another chinese knife then...That settles it i think. I will have fun abusing it this weekend on the mountain and hopefully i will have photos.
Despite the frustrating overall look and cheap feel it is a sharp knife and it cuts pretty well after it is sharpened a bit...can handle feathersticks good but i've got olive wood which is very hard even for other knives...I wouldn't recommend it because for the same amount of money you can get a mora with much better characteristics. I bought mine because i love knives and it piqued my quriosity...However thorough i am, i missed unfortunately the "made in china" at the back, although i would have bought it anyway...

Other reviews coming up with my favourite folding knives of the French Opinel company...
